My youngest Haddon, who is six, decided he wants to be a Youtuber when he grows up. He’s definitely learned the lingo too. One time he got annoyed with his older brother Piper and said,
“I just pressed the dislike button and I UNSUBSCRIBED you!”
Piper is factual, so his focus is on how much money YouTubers make—it’s a lot.
He shared this info with Haddon and it fueled his future YouTube aspirations even more—
“I’m going to make ALL THE MONIES.”
This winter they spent a lot of time on YouTube.
I needed an intervention.
So when a warm spring day showed up in the middle of winter, I had no choice but to tell them,
“Go outside and play!”
I peeled them from the sofa.
Haddon then grabbed his favorite “lucky” crocs from the cubby that sits near our front door. They’re old and dingy. It’s terrible when he wears them without socks because his feet get so dirty.
“These shoes make me run fast!”
That’s the power of The Lucky Crocs.
The boys rushed out the door and ran across our patio to the one-way lane behind our house.
“On your mark, get set, GO!”
They sprinted to the end, turned around and headed back toward me. They raced repeatedly like this for what felt like an hour. At some point, they got tired.
“Mommy! I’m sooo thirsty!”, Haddon’s brightly colored cheeks were hot to the touch. His dark blonde waves stuck stubbornly to his head.
When I brought water, they drank with long, drawn out gulps. Not the leisurely sips they take at meal time.
The whole scene reminded me that water is most refreshing when we’re really thirsty.
I love this Gailie!❤️
